While residing in Bangkok,
in the mid-1980s, Luca’s interest in architecture led him to start seeking
out and photographing Thai-style houses. His work was published in 1989
in a book entitled “Thai Style”, which became the first of a series of books
on building exteriors and interiors featuring traditional Asian construction
and decorative art and craft. Luca’s sensitive approach to recording Asian
style opened the eyes of locals and foreigners alike, and his images have
influenced numerous architects and interior designers around the world,
who have applied many of the ideas captured through Luca’s lens in hotels,
